Creating a Process in the Model Structure

You can create a new process in the model structure independently from a diagram.

Context

A process needs to be displayed in a diagram to be able to model it. It is a good idea to create a process directly in the model structure: If you want to e.g. model a subprocess call in another process but do not want to model the subprocess at this point in time, it is possible to create the subprocess as a sort of wildcard and use it in the process. You can then drag the subprocess you created into a diagram at a later stage and model it there.

How to proceed
  1. Select the element in the model structure which you want to create a new process below.
  2. Select Start>New>New Element>Process>Process.

A new process is created below the selected element. The name of the process is automatically selected to be edited.

  3. Enter the name for the process and confirm with the [Enter] key.
